Sally Quinn Reed, who works at the Center for Parents and Teachers and acts as a liaison with the district Mental Health Team, recently spoke of a grant funded program that provides parent coaching, by experienced professionals, to families. The coaching takes place via phone, which may alleviate some of the logistical aspects of incorporating one more thing into your already busy schedule. One of the advantages of parent coaching is that they can often provide specific and immediate guidance around addressing a particular concern or issue whether it be related to homework, routines, etc.
If anyone is interested in finding out more information about this opportunity please contact Sally at squinnreed@concordps.org and include in the e-mail subject line “Parent Coaching”.
