Year Round Activities

Access Recreation Boston is a new and growing resource connecting people with disabilities to accessible and adaptive recreation opportunities in greater Boston and beyond.

AccesSport America is a national non-profit organization dedicated to the discovery of higher function, fitness, and fun for children and adults with disabilities through high-challenge sports and individual training.

Adaptive Fitness & Movement is a fitness studio in Boxborough that provides fitness classes for individuals with Autism and other special needs. Their programs were designed using the Autism Fitness programming, integrating ABA strategies and exercise science.

Challenger Sport League the goal is to play with no pressure and for special needs children who would never consider playing otherwise.

Minuteman Arc for Human Services, located in Concord, has focused on expanding its recreational programs for youth.

Concord Recreation Department programs for children, teens, and adults.

The Dance Inn provides adaptive dance classes for youth and adults.

Gymnastic Academy of Boston provides an adapted gymnastics program for children of all ages with minimal to moderate developmental delays, including Autism, Sensory issues, and more.

Belmont S.P.O.R.T. is supported by the Belmont Recreation Department and The Belmont S.P.O.R.T. parents group.  They offer sports training and social activities for people with developmental disabilities.

YMCAs are accessible and offer a broad range of classes for the whole family.

Ripley Playscape is nature park for all ages and abilities in Concord, Massachusetts. It is a unique, special spot that invites all to play, relax and interact with their environment. Power Point Slides about the playscape.

Lovelane is a therapeutic horseback riding program that has a dramatic impact on the physical and cognitive development of children with special needs through its holistic approach and unique, supportive environment.

Amplifi -Adaptive music and perfromance based learning programs

Waypoint Adventure provides outdoor adventures such as kayaking, rope courses, backpacking, rock climbing and more so that “all people, regardless of ability, will have opportunities for adventure and through them realize their personal value, strengths, and abilities.”

New England Handicapped Sports Association located at Mount Sunapee Resort in NH, offers skiing and snowboarding in the winter and kayaking, paddling, and rowing in the summer. Their goal is “No Child Left Inside”.

BINA Farm Center BFC provides a comprehensive therapeutic and recreational environment utilizing Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies, Vocational Training Programs and Creative and Complementary Therapies for children and adults with physical, developmental and emotional challenges.
