Parent Orientation

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (DESE) Office of Public School Monitoring (PSM) will conduct a Tiered Focused Monitoring (TFM) Review of our districts. PSM does this every three years to monitor compliance with federal and state special education and civil rights regulations.

Parent outreach is an important part of the review process. A virtual parent orientation will be held and hosted by DESE on March 12^th at 1pm. During this session, Samantha Alvarez, the Public School Monitoring Chairperson, will go over some of the important parts of the review so that parents are fully informed about this process.
